Today was pretty uneventful, Carmen. This morning we took Tommy to storytime at the library. It has been so nice to continue to see familiar faces every morning this week; it helps your mama maintain some sense of normalcy in this time of uncertainty. A lot of people seem surprised to see me out and about with your brother, but like I was telling your daddy, that is the joy of being a mama. Your brother gives me something to get up for each morning, and my vocation gives me a sense of purpose that drives me to keep going. As much as I enjoyed doing graphic design before deciding to stay home, I can honestly say it never came close to giving me that kind of fulfillment. We are so blessed, your daddy and I. We’re blessed to have your brother, blessed to have you, blessed to have each other– God has been so good to us.
Tonight’s letter is short, but this situation is wearing me down in the sense that I’m just tired, I guess. I hope you can understand. Your mama needs to get to bed so I can wake up nice and early to go see you tomorrow! We have another appointment with the doctor and your daddy and I are so excited to see you again.
Love,
Mama
