Letters to Baby: Nobody Hides Baby in the Corner

Today was pretty normal, baby. We skyped with your abuela (grandma Tere) and grandpa Tom up in Duluth. I had already told them about your news via phone on Thursday/Friday, but it was nice to see their faces this morning. Of course, your brother was up to his usual antics for the camera. I just know you would find him hilarious. We even got to skype with your tias (aunties) Jennifer and Jessica! There was a lot of crying all around this morning, but please don’t think we you make us sad because of all the tears. We all love you more than words, we’re just sad that we have such little time to spend with you!

Tonight we went to a party with some of mama’s friends. They were all excited about you and asking lots of questions… so it was hard for mama to put on a brave face and be happy, but it just wasn’t the right time to tell them about how you’re really doing. I hope you can forgive me for making it seem like I was hiding you, because none of this your fault, baby. I don’t want to hide a single thing about you because I love you so very much — I want to give everyone a chance to know how wonderful you are, which is why I’m writing you these letters and letting everyone see them. So everyone can learn all about you.

Love, Mama

“No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.” Luke 8:16
