We went in for a routine 20-week ultrasound today. Everything about this pregnancy has been normal and relatively similar to my pregnancy with Tommy, so we were blindsided by what we found out.
The ultrasound tech interrupted the ultrasound about a quarter of the way through and my OBGYN came in to deliver the bad news that our baby doesn’t look healthy. Fluid in the brain and abdomen, too-short limbs and an enlarged placenta.
My doctor proceeded to tell us that we needed a level II ultrasound to find out what it all means, but that initially things did not look good. Preparing us for the worst, she went through pretty much every worst case scenario with a few “but maybe we’ll find out everything is okay”s peppered in there.
It’s all pretty fuzzy right now as far as specifics go, but we are on the schedule at the hospital for a 7:30 am level II ultrasound tomorrow and will have more news then.
Please, please pray for our family and our little one. Thank you!
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”(Phillippians 4:6)
